About US
The Jordanian society was established in February of 2015. The society is part of the IFSO community since its inauguration. JSOS was a main factor in the fruition of the Pan-Arab Bariatric coalition. Through its executive board perseverence, JSOS has recently become part of the Jordanian Medical Association. It will lead the way in the fight of adiposity-based chronic diseases, fully implementing the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO) vision and mission, and cooperating with PASMBS to lead the region to a better standard as well.
After establishing its ground in Jordan, JSOS sought to announce its presence, and collaborate with its PASMBS counterparts in their first Joint meeting together in 25th to 27th July, 2018. The meeting will include world and regional renouned faculty, with collaboration of three other local societies:
• Jordanian Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism
• Jordanian Society of Gastroenterology
• Jordanian Dietitians Association
This collaboration is considered the first of its own, and promotes achieving the new vision and mission in Jordan and the region.
